Overview

This module introduces electricity, electronics, circuits, safety, LEDs, resistors, the Arduino, and coding. It is a general overview to help gain familiarity with new topics and techniques. Reference artists are provided for inspiration and guidance in students’ research and project proposals

Learning Objectives

• Gain basic understanding of electricity and electric circuits
• Experiment with electrical circuits
• Learn about the Arduino and the Arduino IDE
• Wire up an LED to an Arduino with a breadboard and a resistor
• Upload a sketch to the Arduino to blink an LED
• Modify a sketch to change the blink rate of the LED
