This Blender add-on automatically renames the bones before building the bone list with the Rokoko plugin in. This makes bone list automatically match the bone pairs in the source mocap with the bones in the target mocap.

  1. Download the rename addon zip file external link .
  2. Blender → Edit → Preferences → Add Ons → Install from disk … then select the zip file to install the addon.
  3. Select all of the armatures in the scene.

When using Rokoko in Blender to retarget mocap animations, it can be tedious to rename bones, but you can install a plugin that automatically renames the bones. So how do we install that plugin?

If we navigate to github.com and navigate to the Motive Mixamo Bone Normalizer plugin page, we can go to the latest release. And then we can download the zip file. If you’re on a mac and using Safari it may unzip the zip. Just make sure you re archive it. Then back in Blender. Go to Edit Preferences under add ons. Click this little triangle right here and select install from disk. Navigate to where you downloaded the zip file for the mode of mixing Motive Mixamo Bone Normalizer add on, select it and then install from disk. Here we can see that the Motive Mixamo Bone Normalizer add on is added Blender. You’ll see it also over here under retarget.

Now we can use the add on to retarget bones. Hopefully you can install the Motive Mixamo Bone Normalizer rename add on in Blender. Happy 3D modeling.
